The top five cheapest cities in Europe include Belgrade (Serbia), Prague (Czech Republic), Budapest (Hungary), Zagreb (Croatia), and Ljubljana (Slovenia). This conclusion was reached by the German automobile club ADAC after a corresponding study, reports Zerkalo Nedeli citing Radio Prague.
As reported, the selection criteria primarily were: the cost of a city tour with a guide, public transportation fare, postcard prices, or a restaurant lunch bill. As for the price, according to average calculations, in these countries the average check for a two-day weekend will come to up to 70 euros (not including accommodation costs).
"Especially noteworthy is that in Prague and Budapest food and drinks in restaurants are very cheap, but in these cities public transportation is relatively expensive," the study notes.
In turn, the most expensive European capitals for tourism became Oslo (Norway), Paris (France), London (Great Britain), and Copenhagen (Denmark). For example, two days in Oslo will cost on average 153 euros, excluding accommodation and travel expenses.
