Hungarian visas for Ukrainian citizens will be issued on a fully free basis - without a consular fee. Invitations are also not required to obtain them. Ukrainians could submit applications for Hungarian visas from October 15.
Applications for visas from Ukrainian citizens will be considered within five days. Shorter deadlines for consideration of such applications are provided for unofficial delegations and participants of various intergovernmental commissions. In emergency situations, in particular when an urgent visit to a sick person or the death of a close relative is necessary, Hungarian visas will be issued to Ukrainians without delay.
Visas for Ukrainian citizens with a validity of up to five years are also provided. This applies, in particular, to citizens who have appropriate family ties, who visit the graves of deceased relatives, as well as citizens who play an important role in the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations in various spheres, including public and religious figures, transport workers providing international road transport, and Ukrainian citizens who have reached retirement age. In addition, holders of service and diplomatic passports and members of crews of sea, river and air vessels can travel to Hungary without visas.
Ukrainian citizens who entered the territory of Hungary before the beginning of November without visas can freely leave the country until November 30. In addition, from November 1 to 30, there will be the possibility of obtaining free transit and single-entry visas with a validity of up to 15 days at the border for Ukrainian citizens who, for valid reasons, were unable to obtain visas at Hungarian foreign consular offices. At the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, such visas will be issued at the Zahony checkpoint (on the Ukrainian side - Chop). Ukrainian citizens applying for a visa at the border should take care of photographs in advance.
