The highest ranking among universities from other countries is held by the Australian National University, which took 16th place. The University of Tokyo is in 19th place, and Canada's McGill University rounds out the top twenty.
The best university in continental Europe is the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich, which only took 24th place. Kyoto University and the University of Hong Kong took 25th and 26th positions. France's Ecole Normale Superieure is in 28th place. The University of Copenhagen is in 48th place, Dublin's Trinity College is in 49th. Peking University and Seoul National University round out the top fifty along with Switzerland's Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. The best German university is considered to be Heidelberg University, which took 57th place.
The best university in Latin America is the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which took 150th place. The best African university is the University of Cape Town, located in 179th place.
According to NEWSru.co.il, Lomonosov Moscow State University became the only representative of Russia and all of Eastern Europe in the Top-200 list, taking 183rd place.
