Relax and Wait

Changi is one of the five airports in the world where it is most pleasant to wait for a flight

As Lenta.ru notes, Flight Right can be called an expert in the field of flight delays and cancellations. The service helps travelers who face air travel problems to receive compensation from airlines and airports. Flight Right, which appeared in 2009, now operates in ten countries worldwide.

Changi, Singapore

Construction of the largest aviation hub in Southeast Asia began in 1975. In 1981, Changi opened, and within a year its passenger traffic reached 8.1 million people. Now the number of passengers served annually by the airport reaches 36 million people.

During its existence, Changi has received more than 280 awards, and has been named the best airport in the world 19 times, and not without reason. Here travelers can relax in a garden, stroll among trees in the company of butterflies, and swim in a pool located on the airport roof. In the near future, another huge garden will appear at the airport, with about 300 shops opening on its paths. The next triumph of Singaporean architects is crowned by a waterfall the size of a five-story building.

Samui, Thailand

The small airport of Samui, located on the Thai island of the same name, immediately transports arriving tourists into an atmosphere of relaxed relaxation (or does not let go of those whose flights are delayed). There are almost no enclosed spaces here, the only exception being a souvenir shop. The waiting area looks more like an open living room with trees and flowers, which allows you to feel at one with nature and escape thoughts of work waiting at home.

Incheon, South Korea

Located 70 kilometers from the South Korean capital, Incheon Airport is the largest in the country. It opened relatively recently, in 2001, but already in 2005 the International Airport Council recognized it as the best in the world. Now year after year it receives the highest rating of 'five stars' from the British research company Skytrax.

Inside the hub there is an ice rink, a golf course, a spa, winter gardens, and even a casino. A bored traveler can look at Korean houses and visit a traditional culture museum, stop by the Duty Free zone, which is considered one of the best in the world. Every day, a costumed procession imitating a royal procession passes through the terminals.

Chek Lap Kok, China

Hong Kong Airport also receives its 'five stars' from Skytrax every year. The air harbor, built on an artificial island, opened in 1998. In subsequent years, a huge IMAX cinema, a golf course, an aviation center with special simulators, and an educational park for children appeared on its territory. Exhibitions, concerts, and theatrical performances are constantly held in the airport halls.

At the same time, from the point of view of air traffic, Chek Lap Kok cannot be called the most advanced airport: it has only two runways, which often leads to flight delays. The possibility of building a third runway is currently being studied, but this will require expanding the island's territory into deep water, which could cost as much as building an entire airport.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The main airport of the UAE is considered one of the busiest in the world: hundreds of connecting flights pass through it, and the total capacity is estimated at 80 million passengers per year. It is one of the most expensive airports in the world: its construction cost 5.5 billion dollars. The third terminal is considered the second largest building in the world.

In 2008, a special VIP terminal was opened at Dubai Airport, occupying 5.5 thousand square meters. The building houses many Duty Free shops and a state-of-the-art business center and conference rooms. Wealthy passengers are transported to the planes in limousines.

Facilities at Dubai Airport are also created for ordinary travelers. There is a pool with a sauna and jacuzzi, a gym, two gardens, and a special hotel for passengers suffering from insomnia. And exhibitions and performances are held in the spacious halls.
