Numerous intermediaries promising our compatriots incredibly high earnings, better prospects and many other (almost unearthly) benefits, as a rule, turn out to be ordinary scammers. As a result of their assistance, people find themselves in a foreign country without money, documents, and generally as illegal immigrants who have entered the country illegally.
How to protect yourself and your loved ones? Maybe work is the best solution for residents of Ukraine, and employment in Moscow is the dream of citizens of remote regions of the Russian Federation? Yes, perhaps so. Here, at least, you are in your own country, and you have all rights, the law is on your side, etc.
But if the desire to go abroad for work is stronger than reason – try to take care of the following things.
First, try to visit the websites of the country you plan to go to. The information on their pages is mostly truthful and up-to-date. Contact company managers or private employers. From correspondence or phone calls, find out details: what kind of work awaits you, what are the main conditions, how payment will be made, and most importantly – check whether the employer can send you a 'work invitation'. This will be much cheaper than giving money to an intermediary company that cannot even guarantee results.
Carefully check the correctness of filling out documents for a visa. Stop all attempts to use false information in them. This can entail serious consequences: from a 'black' visa to imprisonment in a foreign state.
Never give your passport to anyone. This can only be done for visa processing at the embassy doors (mandatory procedure). After that, the passport and other necessary documents should be kept in your hands.
Before signing a contract – read it carefully. If you do not know the language in which it is written – ask for a photocopy and use a translator's services. Every nuance, every word in such a document can play a nasty trick on the territory of a foreign country.
