People even travel abroad for a beautiful smile
According to Dutch scientists, the highest prices for dental services are recorded in the UK. For example, filling a tooth here will cost 19 times more than in Hungary. And it is in Hungary that prices for dental services are the lowest in Europe.
Researchers from the Institute for Medical Technology Assessment at Erasmus University Rotterdam compared prices for dental treatment and stomatitis in nine EU countries.
As a result, the researchers found that filling a tooth in the UK costs about 117 pounds (approximately $234). Italy and Spain ranked second and third in terms of cost of dental services. In these countries, filling a tooth costs 101 pounds and 94 pounds respectively. Lower prices for fillings were recorded in Germany — 50 pounds, and in France — 34 pounds for filling one tooth.
The cheapest dental services are provided by Eastern European countries, including Hungary, where you can fill a tooth for just 6 pounds.
As a rule, most 'medical tourists' come from the UK. Due to very high prices for dental services in their country, Britons mainly get dental treatment in India and Croatia. Swedes go to Poland and Estonia.
