Cusco – the oldest city on the American continent
The landmark of Iquitos is the Iron House (Casa de Fierro). The building is interesting because its author was Gustave Eiffel, who built the famous Paris tower. The Iron House is not only a historical monument; it houses an English pub in an old style, as well as a cafe.
Another landmark of Iquitos is the street located in the city center and open only to pedestrians – Malecón Tarapacá. The feature of this street is that the decoration of all buildings (wrought iron grilles, marble, paving stones), built in the 19th century, was brought from Italy.

35 km from Iquitos is Pilpintuwasi, which translates from the Quechua language as 'butterfly house'. The farm breeds more than 40 species of butterflies, including the owl butterfly (búho) and the morpho butterfly with bright blue coloring. At the farm, tourists can observe the full life cycle of butterflies.
