As Vinegret.cz reports, according to data published by the office, from January to June, 22,590 people arrived in the country from abroad, while 11,088 residents left. Thus, the net external migration balance was positive at 11,502 people.
The largest difference between arrivals and departures of foreigners was recorded for citizens of Ukraine (+2,600 people), Slovakia (+2,100), and Vietnam (+700).
In the first half of the year, 55,528 children were born in the Czech Republic. Of these, almost half (27,224) were born out of wedlock.
The number of deaths during this period was 57,787. The average age of deceased men was 72.9 years, and women 79.9 years. Thus, the natural population decline was 2,259 residents.
As for marriages, their popularity in the Czech Republic slightly decreased. From January to June, 18,792 couples officially registered their relationship, which is 1,062 fewer than in the same period of 2016. Of these, 66% of newlyweds were marrying for the first time.
