The Italians sold faulty power units (generators, pumps, rotary hammers) under the guise of Honda brand devices. Operatives managed to discover three warehouses in St. Petersburg and the region containing Chinese products with labels and identification marks of the Honda company.
The suspects, posing as Honda employees, offered to buy the goods at a favorable price, claiming that they had recently had an exhibition and had some equipment left that was not profitable to take back. The Italians were seized more than 150 power units ready for sale, for which the fraudsters expected to receive 50 million rubles.
As Gazeta.Ru reports, a criminal case has been initiated on charges of fraud under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code. One detainee has been arrested, two have been released on a written undertaking not to leave.
