Cable car in Antalya
Many are surprised by the high-quality transport interchange, well-thought-out parking lots, and of course street and highway interchanges. But another achievement requires attention – the cable car in Antalya. The idea appeared back in 2013, and the first part of the project was built in 2017.
This “attraction” attracts many citizens of the country and its guests. For a ten-minute walk and contemplation of beautiful views, the country invested 15 million Turkish liras in the project, which is essentially a budget option. The cable car starts from Mount Tünektepe, and descending along it you can enjoy beautiful panoramas of the western Taurus Mountains, the Sarısu River, and the Konyaaltı district. The height of the mountain is only 618 meters. The road is open from 10:00 to 19:00 except in windy weather.
By the way, as confirmation that everything here is thought out to the smallest detail: after descending from the road, having enjoyed the views, you can immerse yourself in the Turkish atmosphere, relax and try national dishes. There is also a medical center and even a prayer room.
The road has 36 cabins with a total capacity of up to 200 people. Thus, for a fairly small amount, more than 50,000 people visit the cable car per month.
The government does not stop there; in the near future it plans to create an even more cozy place, adding restaurants, a hotel, and places for night entertainment. What about prices now? Parking will cost 5 liras, and the cable car ride itself – 15 liras.
If adventures are not enough, and you want to see a new number on your pedometer, we recommend visiting Mount Tahtalı. A cable car leads to it, and the height of the mountain itself is 2365 meters. From it you can see the Taurus Mountains, breathtaking landscapes. You can descend by cable car, paraglider, or on foot.
What else to see in Turkey? A truly romantic place – the Bokan pier. Soon it will be expanded through the construction of real estate, and the pier will be equipped for yachts. Another dream of the city authorities is to create an analogue of Hollywood, namely a film studio larger than Universal.
A more realistic and down-to-earth plan to implement is the reconstruction of the Konyaaltı coastline. The goal is to make everything more comfortable – pedestrian paths, parking spaces, recreation areas. Part has already been implemented – in 2018, the Mediterranean Avenue was opened.
Antalya is expanding, transforming, growing and prospering. Who knows, perhaps in the near future we will be able to see a high-class cruise port here and meet stars of world cinema.
