To settle in a house with a view of the Suleymaniye Mosque – what could be better?

A mosque of amazing beauty in the Turkish resort town of Alanya

One of the most suitable resorts for budget family vacations in southern Turkey is the city of Alanya. In its center there are many shopping and entertainment centers, and not far from the center, closer to the coast and beaches, there are comfortable hotels with truly European service. Here there are also numerous villas, apartment buildings and residential complexes, being built nowadays mainly for the interests of foreign tourists eager to become homeowners in Turkey.

The sale of apartments in Alanya is a constant process gaining momentum year after year. Thousands of Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Germans, Poles, French, and citizens of other European states express a desire to either settle here permanently or at least purchase real estate.

This is not surprising, given the characteristics of the city, because Alanya is the largest Mediterranean resort in Turkey. Moreover, it is a beautiful city, in the old part of which ancient towers, mosques and other buildings appear to the eyes of tourists. And one of the most famous attractions of Alanya is the Suleymaniye Mosque, built back in the era of Seljuk rule.

This beautiful mosque, also called the Aladdin Mosque, is located near the main attraction of Alanya – the ancient Byzantine fortress on the mountain. The Suleymaniye Mosque was built in 1231, when Sultan Aladdin Kayqubad I was rebuilding the city. Subsequently, the mosque was destroyed, and rebuilt under Sultan Suleiman the Lawgiver in the 16th century. That is why the mosque is called by two names – in honor of Sultan Aladdin and in honor of Sultan Suleiman. Moreover, it is often referred to as the Fortress Mosque.

The Suleymaniye Mosque has one minaret. It is built of stone and has a square shape. For better acoustics, fifteen small balls are suspended under the dome of the mosque. The wooden doors and windows of the Suleymaniye Mosque are true masterpieces of wood carving art from the Ottoman Empire era.

The Suleymaniye Mosque is not just a temple, but a whole complex, which also includes a palace, military buildings, and a school. All these structures were built in the Seljuk and Ottoman periods.

There are many other interesting attractions in Alanya. And combined with the excellent climate, beautiful sandy beaches, and the friendly attitude of local residents towards visitors, this makes Alanya a very attractive place for purchasing real estate. Moreover, real estate in Alanya is cheaper than in many cities in Russia! For example, you can buy an apartment here from 30, and a villa from 80 thousand euros. Can you find a luxurious, almost hundred-square-meter apartment in a new building, for example, in Sochi or Anapa, at such a tempting price? Hardly!

There are, of course, also mansions in Alanya priced at 400-500 thousand conventional units, but the economy sector of real estate really distinguishes Alanya, as well as other Turkish cities, from Russian megacities and even from ordinary regional centers. To buy an apartment or house in Alanya and come here on vacation every year, or even several times a year, while living in your own home – what could be better than that?!
