Poles' strawberries to be saved by Ukrainians

Due to problems with entry into Poland for Ukrainian workers, 30-40% of strawberries may remain in the fields

"Mainly, seasonal workers from Ukraine come to Poland. But recently there have been huge difficulties related to the entry of Ukrainian workers into Poland. I think that this year about 30-40% of strawberries will not be harvested; they will simply rot in the fields," says Andrzej Gajowniczek.

As reported by Polskie Radio, berry farm owners are appealing to customs services to be more liberal towards workers from across the eastern border. And from the government, they expect changes to existing rules.
