The Polish government is working on new provisions of social and migration policy
According to him, Polish companies will find it easier to employ foreigners from across the country's eastern border. The Polish government also wants to carefully study which regions and sectors need workers, what competencies and professions are required. In addition, the new provisions are intended to improve conditions for Ukrainian citizens to do business in Poland.
In turn, Andrzej Korkus, owner of the foreign employment firm EWL Group, noted that Poland has a liberal migration policy, but going through all the formalities takes a long time. The entrepreneur proposed hiring additional officials to issue work permits.
At the same time, he warned that good workers will not wait long for the necessary documents, and labor migrants from Ukraine are increasingly being sought by entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
Work on the new migration policy in Poland has been ongoing for several months. As Minister Kwieciński added, it accelerated after the reconstruction of the Polish government. The new provisions will be ready before the summer holidays.
Earlier, Polskie Radio reported that the volume of remittances by Ukrainian migrants from Poland to Ukraine increased by more than one and a half times in 2017, exceeding 13 billion zlotys, or more than 3 billion euros. This was stated by Bartosz Cichocki, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, during the 11th Europe-Ukraine Forum.
"If in 2016 Ukrainian workers sent home 8 billion zlotys, the latest data from our Central Bank show that in 2017, 13 billion zlotys were already transferred – that's about 100 billion hryvnias," the Polish diplomat noted. "Of course, this is not charity; it is money earned by these people, but Poland gave them the opportunity to earn this money," he added.
Recall that according to Polish politicians and officials, up to 2 million Ukrainians work in Poland.
