Ukrainian citizens working in Poland earn on average about 470 euros
The highest earners – about 2.8 thousand zlotys (620 euros) – are those working in repair and construction services. Workers in household services earn a thousand zlotys less.
Representative of the National Bank of Poland Grzegorz Dobroczek noted that Ukrainians send most of their earnings to their families back home. "Ukrainian citizens try to spend relatively little in Poland, about 33% of the funds they receive in hand. They manage to save so much because, in addition to their salary, they often receive additional help from employers, including free accommodation and meals," he said.
Grzegorz Dobroczek also noted that the authors of the report were surprised by the fact that most of the money (about 43%) Ukrainians bring to their relatives in Polish currency. Another 42% of their earnings they exchange for dollars.
The document notes that among Ukrainians working in Poland, women have predominated for many years, but since 2014 men have started coming more often.
