Every fourth Polish employer is ready to pay a Ukrainian worker more than a Pole
"For some time now, the salaries of Poles and Ukrainians have been almost equal. The period when Ukrainian workers were paid less is a thing of the past. This is due to the growing demand for workers from Ukraine, which forces employers to offer them more favorable conditions, close to those offered to Poles," says Krzysztof Inglot, head of Personnel Service. "Increasingly, in addition to salary, employers offer Ukrainians additional perks such as housing, internet payment, or transport to work," he notes.
According to the study, 42% of Polish employers have a positive attitude towards workers from Ukraine. 44% of respondents declare a neutral attitude. Compared to 2017, the percentage of employers who negatively assess Ukrainians also increased, from 7% to 11%.
As reported by Polskie Radio, 89% of Poles do not believe that Ukrainians are taking their jobs, while 11% hold the opposite opinion. At the same time, 38% of Poles believe that the influx of Ukrainian workers into Poland is slowing wage growth, while 58% believe it has no effect on wages in the country.
