Russians predominate among foreign owners of Czech companies
As Radio Prague reports, the number of joint-stock companies (a.s.) and limited liability companies (s.r.o.) with a Russian owner as of January 1, 2018, was 13,239. This is about 500 companies fewer than in 2015, but Russians continue to hold the lead.
At the same time, as an analysis by the CRIF agency showed, the bulk of capital in companies with foreign owners comes from Germany. They are followed by companies with Slovak owners (10,213). Next come Ukraine (9,396), Germany (7,838), and the United Kingdom (3,671).
"The key inflow of foreign capital into the Czech Republic comes from EU countries, accounting for 80% of the capital of all companies with foreign owners," analysts report.
