Why vacationing in the Maldives is so expensive

The host of the show "Heads and Tails" Nastya Ivleeva explained why the Maldives are not affordable for everyone

To not miss the broadcast of the popular TV show, use the convenient TV schedule, which shows the exact date and time of the broadcast.

Nastya Ivleeva revealed the main secret of the high cost of a weekend spent in this paradise place. The manager of the hotel where the host stayed explained in an informal conversation that construction is very expensive here.

Construction work requires a lot of time and money. According to him, first of all, you need to rent a small patch of sand located in the middle of the ocean. Then increase its area to a size that would allow buildings and a hotel to be placed.

And as for the sand, that's a whole different story. Getting it is very difficult. You cannot bring it from other islands, as this would disrupt the microflora. Although, in fact, such experiments have been done, which led to the disruption of the ecosystem. So only one option remains – to place sand extracted from your own lagoon on the beach.

Only after that can you deliver workers, building materials, and equipment to a completely empty island. Then you need to build a mobile communication tower, a power plant, lay a sewage network, a station where boats will be refueled. Then you can start landscaping the area, bring in many mature palm trees and other exotic plants.

The cost of all this is simply astronomical. Moreover, force majeure situations have not been canceled. One of them occurred when a car drove into a pit and accidentally fell into it. And this happened despite the fact that it happened 400 meters from the shore, and the car itself weighed more than 30 tons. It took about two weeks to put the car in a vertical position. During this time, small crabs and fish managed to settle in the car's engine.

So it turns out that a paradise corner does not appear by itself. And the luxurious view of the Maldives is mostly the work of persistent people who do not stop in the face of difficulties. It can take about 4 years to build such a paradise island, and it will pay off in at least 10 years.

After all this information, all questions about the high cost of vacationing in the Maldives disappeared for the host.
