Why do foreigners buy real estate in Barcelona?

To distract from gloomy thoughts, perhaps inspired by the image of Casa Batlló, you must visit Park Güell – the most cheerful creation of Gaudí. The park is made of stone, yet looks as if nature itself created it – whimsical bridges and benches, intricate passages of stone palms, gingerbread houses at the entrance.

The greenest place in Barcelona is the wooded hill of Montjuïc. It is to its vicinity that tourists go to Barcelona for an apartment. This hill is visible from any part of the city. You can walk around Montjuïc all day long. Visitors can see the Montjuïc Castle, the Spanish Village, an amusement park, several museums, and numerous Olympic facilities.

You can explore Montjuïc on a toy train, which will especially delight children. Montjuïc Castle stands on a cliff, and from here there is a magnificent view of the sea. Currently, the castle is open to visitors as a Military Museum.

The Barcelona Aquarium consists of a large number of tanks filled with tropical and Mediterranean fauna. The huge central tank, the oceanarium, is especially impressive. Beneath it is a transparent 80-meter tunnel with a moving walkway. White sharks and rays swim right above visitors' heads.

The evening show for tourists – the 'Singing Fountains of Barcelona' – is an amazingly beautiful spectacle. Hundreds of tons of water, to the sounds of classical music, as if by magic, soar up and then fall, creating an intricate pattern illuminated by various colors.

The dynamics of real estate prices are more favorable for buyers than ten years ago. The highest cost per square meter was recorded at the end of 2006, after the crisis there was a collapse. Now the worst is over, the situation is improving, buyers are returning to the market. Barcelona felt the consequences of the crisis most acutely; in the southwestern areas, where sales are mainly driven by foreign buyers, demand dropped sharply. Previously, a real estate agency in Spain had to deal with a shortage, but now the market is overflowing with listings.

In Barcelona, houses, apartments, and villas cost as much as in Paris, London, Rome; many investors are interested in purchasing housing in this city because they consider it an effective investment.
