Emirates became the best airline in the world for 2016
According to Deutsche Welle, the current winner of the Skytrax rating, Emirates, has significantly improved its position, rising from fifth place in 2015 to first and pushing last year's leader, Qatar Airways, into second place. In the top 10 for the second year in a row, although dropping from fourth to seventh place, is Turkish airline Turkish Airlines, which first entered the leaders of the prestigious rating in 2015.
A Russian airline is in 40th place in the list for 2016, having risen from 46th place in last year's ranking. Also included in the top hundred carriers are three German airlines: Eurowings in 75th place, Air Berlin in 74th, and Lufthansa in 10th. Thus, the leading German airline, having moved up from last year's 12th place, entered the group of ten leaders, which is considered a significant achievement in the civil aviation industry, comparable, for example, to filmmakers winning a Hollywood Oscar.
