There are three stages that every person goes through before becoming a hardened drunkard.
In the first stage, “cultural drinking” is cultivated. If lucky, a novice alcoholic can drink culturally for about ten years. But if the body is weakened and has a bad heredity, a person will stop drinking culturally after about a year. The first stage is characterized by loss of control over the amount, justification, and timeliness of alcohol consumed. Amnesia may also occur.
As a result, society has not yet a true and hardened alcoholic, but a self-confident “professional” steadily striving to improve his qualifications. Having achieved such results, the novice drunkard moves on to the next stage.
In the second stage, a false impression is formed that the alcoholic's body tolerates fairly substantial doses of alcohol quite well. The alcoholic loses control over the amount consumed and does not notice the regularity of binges. He begins prolonged drinking bouts, and family and work problems arise.
Normal life remains in the past, but the drinker is unable to foresee the catastrophe. However, in moments of clarity, he realizes that his health is deteriorating and his life is full of problems, so from time to time he makes unsuccessful attempts to give up the harmful habit.
In the third stage, the amount consumed breaks all records. In one day, an alcoholic can easily drink three liters of alcoholic beverages. Such a volume significantly impairs the condition of the brain, causing negative changes in the form of the “appearance” of delirium tremens. Serious illnesses may also arise, such as stomach cancer or liver cirrhosis.
The last stage finally turns into a harmful addiction. A person loses family, work, and has only one concern left – to find alcohol and drink it.
Only a visit to a professional narcologist can help get rid of the harmful habit. There are now many medical institutions that help eliminate alcohol cravings and offer treatment of female alcoholism (unfortunately, the weaker sex is also susceptible to this disease). If you consult specialists in time, modern diagnostic methods and an individual approach will help get rid of this dangerous disease.
