• Patong Area
Patong is the most party-oriented and noisy area on the island. It can be safely compared to Pattaya, it's so noisy and developed. There are many shops, hotels, travel agencies, salons, bars, nightclubs. In short, you can find all the pleasures of life for an active tourist. The center of the area is a small street called Bangla Road. Almost all the entertainment venues of the area are concentrated along it: nightclubs, strip clubs, bars, transvestite shows, etc. Here you can find entertainment for every taste and budget, and for any gender.
The beach itself is not the best. It is very long, a full 4 kilometers. But the bad thing is that there is a noisy road along the entire coast, which does not have a pleasant effect on the quality of beach relaxation. But if you don't pay too much attention to this, you can find a secluded quiet spot with small waves, good shade, and farther from the road.
What's good is that hotels in Patong are considered the cheapest in Phuket. Rather, it would be fair to say that there is such a huge selection of hotels that the cheapest ones can be found right here.
• Kalim Area
Kalim is located right next to Patong beach, continuing the western coast of Phuket to the north. Many think these two areas are similar, but in reality they are very different. Kalim is much more calm and quiet. It resembles a village more than a tourist area. The beach itself is bad – it is very narrow and rocky, without amenities. This beach can only be recommended to those who want silence and who don't care about quality.
• Karon Beach
Karon is definitely one of the most popular beaches in Phuket. This beautiful beach has earned its fame among other areas of Phuket for a reason. It can be said that if Patong is too noisy and party-oriented for you, then go to Karon. It is just a few kilometers from the noise of Patong's parties, and here a calm, almost village-like atmosphere prevails. At the same time, surprisingly, the infrastructure is top-notch. There is everything you need, and on top of that, a wonderful sandy beach.
There are plenty of hotels in Karon, and among them there are very inexpensive ones. A modest room in a guesthouse can be found for $15-20.
• Kata Beach
Kata is considered one of the best beaches on the island for a vacation with children. The area itself is quiet and peaceful, but has everything. The beach is simply ideal for relaxing with small children in high season, since there are almost no waves, the depth is shallow, and the sand is very clean. In short, if you have children, we would advise starting your search for a vacation spot from this beach.
• Nai Harn Beach
Nai Harn is a small beach without its own tourist area. The coastline is fairly well equipped for relaxation, with sun loungers and modest water activities. But there is no infrastructure in the area as such.
• Rawai Beach
To be honest, Rawai is not really a beach. There are shops, hotels, bars, seafood restaurants. But swimming on the beach is categorically impossible. The entire coastline is crowded with fishing boats and littered with trash. But even such an area has its customers, and tourists who want to quickly get to the neighboring Yanui and Nai Harn beaches stay here.
• Chalong Area
Chalong in Phuket is not actually a beach, but just an area. There are no hotels, and although there is access to the sea, swimming is impossible. The entire shore is covered with boats, the water is dirty. In general, this place is only suitable for wealthy owners of yachts and ships.
There is another category of foreigners staying here. These are winter visitors who rent houses here. You don't know who winter visitors are? They are tourists who come for a long term. They rent houses here and live in this quiet area among Thais.
