Currently, rooms are available only in very expensive hotels (such as, for example, Grand Hotel, where a room costs about 18,000 rubles). In addition, as in previous years, there is a shortage of railway tickets.
Every year, the tourist frenzy is complicated by the fact that the Russian Economic Forum takes place in St. Petersburg in mid-June. According to IS 'Banko', during this time, the city's hotels become unavailable as they are booked for the numerous participants of the event. This year, the economic forum will be held a bit earlier, from June 8 to 10, which is very convenient for tourists who managed to book tours for the long weekend.
As for the shortage of hotels, nothing can be radically changed. The deficit of accommodation entails a certain limitation of the flow of tourists to the city. And that is also a blessing, otherwise in June it would be impossible to get into any museum. As experts note, there are already multi-hour queues at them.
At the same time, for individual tourists, accommodation options in apartments rented daily are still available. However, those wishing to visit the Northern capital at this time should consider that daily apartments in St. Petersburg must be booked in advance, and the cost of such accommodation can be as expensive as hotel rooms during the 'high season'.
