As reported by Finmarket, this was announced at a press conference of the airline's management last Thursday. It is expected that the procedure for obtaining the operator's certificate will be completed within a month. For now, the company plans to operate non-stop flights from Moscow to 14 Russian cities, including St. Petersburg, Rostov, Murmansk, and others. It is expected that by the end of 2007, the route network of Sky Express will include more than 20 domestic flight destinations to cities located 800-3000 km from Moscow. The discounter intends to announce the final decision on the first routes after the certification process is completed.
As the management of Sky Express promises, ticket prices will be significantly lower than the current fares of other airlines on these routes – initially no more than 500 rubles. Such low prices will be due to frequent flights and direct ticket sales. As the management of Sky Express stated, the booking system for the airline's flights will be available as early as December 5-6.
In total, the Sky Express fleet will consist of 16-17 Boeing 737-300 and Boeing 737-500 aircraft, acquired under lease, by the end of 2007. The age of the aircraft is 10 to 12 years. As of today, one Boeing 737-300 is already at the airline's base airport, Vnukovo. Delivery of two more is scheduled for December of this year.
Already in the first half of 2007, the airline plans to carry 600,000 passengers, and by the end of 2008, their number should reach 3.5 million. In total, over 5 years, Sky Express's passenger traffic, according to the airline's plans, should reach 7 million people.
