Five Amazing Attractions of Thailand

Phuket Island is located in the southern part of Thailand

Recently, the number of travelers who want to travel to Thailand independently has increased. And it is not surprising – you can have a wonderful vacation here and spend not that much money. Life in Thailand is not very expensive, and according to Europeans, many things here cost next to nothing. This country is a paradise for lovers of seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables. The food is inexpensive, but they cook very tasty here.

But, as they say, "man does not live by bread alone..." Thailand really has something to see. Bangkok – that's where you should go first, because, in our opinion, this city characterizes the country as a whole as well as possible. Bangkok can be called a city of contrasts – here magnificent palaces and temples are located next to modern skyscrapers, and next to them you can see modest bamboo huts. The royal palace impresses with its splendor. You must take a boat ride through the canals of Bangkok, reminiscent of Venice.

On the island of Koh Samui, life flows calmly and measuredly, captivating with silence and romance – which means you can temporarily forget about the hustle and bustle of big cities. The sandy beaches and coconut plantations of this island create the feeling of being in a fairy-tale country. On Samui there are two amazing waterfalls, temples, a butterfly garden, and an aquarium. You can visit an animal show and ride an elephant here.

Another Thai island – Phuket – deserves no less attention. It is not only beautiful but also unique. In shape, Phuket resembles a pearl, but an irregular one. At the same time, on the island you can actually see how real pearls are grown on a special plantation. Here you can admire the beauty of the jungle, coral caves, go yachting, and visit a real Thai village where performances are shown twice a day.

Be sure to visit the old capital of Thailand – Ayutthaya. This city has many ancient temples and palaces, and although only ruins remain from many of them, these are majestic ruins that silently remind of the former glory of the ancient capital. All of them are now monuments of culture and architecture. In the ancient fortress of Ayutthaya, it is worth paying attention to the magnificent wooden ceiling decorated with carvings, as well as the 6-meter statue of Buddha in a crown. Also impressive is the Buddha made of green stone.

And also in Thailand you can visit the house of Jim Thompson. By nationality, Jim was an American, but it was he who revived and made Thai silk famous all over the world. His house has a huge collection of antiques from different countries. However, Jim's fate is not enviable, he disappeared in the jungles of Malaysia.

In a word: "It is better to see once than to hear a hundred times." You can fulfill your dream and visit Thailand by organizing an independent trip there.
