As is known, the European Union has had a total ban on carrying liquids and gels in hand luggage in volumes exceeding 100 ml for a year now, with the exception of those purchased at Duty Free at the departure airport. According to Travel.ru, due to this rule, a huge amount of liquid substances is confiscated daily from passengers making transfers.
Several months ago, the European Commission ruled that liquids would not be taken away from passengers arriving from states that have managed to ensure equally high security standards. Countries whose airports' security levels have been confirmed by a special EU inspection will receive permission. Singapore became the first such country. Passengers flying from Singapore with a transfer in Europe can now buy perfumery and drinks at Duty Free without fear that their purchases will be confiscated during the transfer.
At the same time, the European Commission refused to name the countries that could be next to be allowed to carry liquids through European airports.
