Anyone submitting an application should be aware that during periods of maximum application volume, quite long queues may form, and there is no guarantee that everyone who wishes to submit an application will be able to do so on the same day.
All visa applications are reviewed on the same day by a responsible visa section officer. The section tries to make a decision on granting a visa on the same day. It is the responsibility of visa applicants to ensure that the application form is correctly completed before submission.
Visa applicants should be aware that they may be invited for an interview. Waiting for an interview may take several weeks, so it is advisable to submit the application in advance.
Through the accelerated service scheme on Fridays from 9:00 to 12:00
To be serviced under this scheme, you must meet the criteria set out below. To submit a visa application under this scheme, you must complete the form and the IM2A application form. Applicants who do not meet the criteria for service under this scheme will not be admitted to the visa section on Fridays. Use of the accelerated service scheme is not mandatory for those who meet its criteria.
Individuals who meet one of the criteria listed below and have not previously been refused a visa to the United Kingdom may submit visa applications every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You will be notified when you need to return to the visa section to collect your passport with the visa, or you will be given an interview date. This scheme applies to anyone who meets the following criteria: You have previously traveled to the United Kingdom within the last 10 years and have complied with all immigration rules (provide proof of this). You have previously traveled to the USA/Australia/New Zealand/Canada within the last 10 years and have complied with all immigration rules (provide proof of this). You are over 65 years old. You are part of an organized group traveling to a specific event (for example, a music group traveling to a festival). This category does not apply to tourist or student groups. You are the wife/husband/dependent relative of a person who has a multiple-entry visa to the United Kingdom valid for more than 6 months, or you are the wife/husband/dependent relative of a British citizen residing in Ukraine. You are a permanent resident of the United Kingdom and are returning to it. You are a government official traveling to the United Kingdom on official business. You are a diplomat. Your sponsor is the British Council or you are a student on the Chevening program. You are a member of an aircraft crew.
Scheduling document submission by email
A limited number of slots for document submission are offered from Monday to Thursday for those who book a date and time for document submission by email. Demand for slots under this scheme may exceed the number of available slots. Therefore, those using this scheme may be informed that there are no available slots. Only those who receive a response with information about the date and time when they can visit the visa section will be allowed entry.
Booking a date and time for document submission should include the following information: surname, first name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, intended travel date, address in Ukraine. Bookings can be sent to the email address: [email protected]
Through the 'Business Express' system
Companies whose employees regularly visit the UK on business may apply for expedited service under the 'Business Express' scheme. This scheme allows visa applications to be submitted under a special procedure. The following requirements apply for joining this scheme: at least 5 employees of the company visit the UK annually; the company's employees do not violate immigration laws. Organizations that are members of the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, the European Business Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce are automatically serviced under this scheme.
Companies should note that this scheme does not guarantee the issuance of a visa or a decision on the same day, and that it cannot be used to facilitate private visits. Applications to join this scheme should be submitted in writing to the head of the visa section at the address listed below.
Scheduling interviews before applying for a visa for permanent residence
This scheme applies only to applications from fiancés, husbands, wives, unmarried partners, or dependent relatives of British citizens. Persons who wish to move to the UK for permanent residence may be invited for an interview. Under the new scheme, these people will be able to obtain an interview date by post, email, by phone, or in person before submitting a visa application. You should clearly indicate in advance the dates when you will be unable to attend the interview.
The visa section does not accept original passports or visa fees by post! It should be remembered that sending documents does not mean they have been received. The visa section will respond to you indicating the date and time of the interview. On the day of the interview, you must submit the original of your passport and pay the visa fee. A visa application is not considered formally registered until the visa fee has been paid. Those wishing to apply for a permanent residence visa may continue to do so in person if they wish.
