Exhibits of the Museum of Strategic Missile Forces
Today, the well-known tour operator in Ukraine – KrainaUa company – organizes excursions to an unusual, previously top-secret place in the village of Pobuzhskoye, Kirovohrad region. Currently, there is a museum here that tells about the Strategic Missile Forces. And during the Cold War, this base housed the 309th Regiment of the Missile Division. It served the missile launch command post and was in charge of the "nuclear button."
This mechanism could give a real start to a nuclear warhead, whose flight range was 15,000 km. Now it is the only museum of its kind of the Strategic Missile Forces in Ukraine. Its territory contains more than two thousand military exhibits that will interest all tourists. The excursion is conducted by military specialists who previously served in the 309th Regiment. Therefore, such an excursion will be very informative and useful for every tourist of different ages.
Excursion participants will see: missile launch mechanism; underground command post; power unit and refrigeration facility; living quarters of military personnel; missile mock-ups; nuclear warhead mock-up; missile engines; transport mechanisms for carrying missiles; missile fuel tankers.
The trip is one-day, so it does not include meals. Therefore, tourists must provide for the possibility of having food with them. During the transfer, only short technical stops are possible.
The excursion starts at 8:00 near the "Ipodrom" metro station and ends at 21:00. Tourists are provided with a comfortable tourist bus.
