Every year, the sea conquers more and more of Venice
Travel portal В дорогу! recommends several cities you can visit on a trip.
Venice
There are no cars here, but that makes the city of 188 islands even more beautiful. Exploring the sights and medieval architecture of buildings while walking along the water canals or traveling by gondola is a pleasure. Venice is so filled with the sea that it will eventually "swallow" the city: the water level rises every year. So you'd better hurry to see this amazing place with your own eyes.
Stockholm
In this city of islands, the coastline is truly the center of life. As in Venice, in Stockholm you can wander along bridges or canals, looking at the diverse architecture of buildings that harmoniously blend with the water. Divided into 14 islands, Stockholm was chosen as one of the two Green Cities of the European Union in 2009, which is not surprising at all: the capital of Sweden has allocated 40% of its territory for numerous green spaces and parks.
Nice
The port city with the long Promenade des Anglais, the best hotels, restaurants and clubs is considered one of the best resorts on the Mediterranean coast. The picturesque water landscapes have been a source of inspiration for many famous artists. Matisse, Marc Chagall, César, Arman and others lived, rested and worked in Nice.
Porto
In the historic center of the large Portuguese city, you can see centuries-old houses and narrow streets that descend to the Douro River. Porto is located a few kilometers from the mouth of the Douro into the Atlantic Ocean, on its right bank. On the opposite bank, the vineyards of Vila Nova de Gaia are visible. Here you can organize your relaxation by having coffee or a glass of aromatic "Vinho Verde" on the coast, or strolling across the amazing Dom Luís Bridge with the best view of the shore and port.
Barcelona
The Spanish seaside city is visited by millions of tourists every year to spend their holidays on the Catalan coast. Barcelona has many good beaches, interesting historical sights, the largest shopping center in Europe with 35,000 stores, and an active nightlife. The sea here is an integral part of the city, giving Barcelona a unique atmosphere.
