Holidays in Bulgaria are getting more expensive

From December to February, 3.310 foreign and 1.553 Bulgarian tourists took part in a survey conducted by the Institute of Marketing and Social Research (MBMD). 51% of respondents called Bulgarian prices moderate, while 16% considered holidays in Bulgaria expensive. Another 30% of respondents still consider Bulgaria a cheap country, reports Travel.ru citing Sofia Weekly.

Interestingly, tourists who come to the country on package tours fully paid to travel agencies spend much more on holidays than those who organize their trip independently. Thus, the average cost of a package tour for foreign tourists was 843 leva (?431), and including additional expenses – 1.335 leva (?683), while independent travelers also arriving from abroad spent 1.250 leva (?640).

The average duration of a holiday at Bulgarian winter resorts was 6,2 days for foreign tourists and 4 days for Bulgarian travelers.
