The mission of the Malta Tourism Authority is to promote the economic and social components of tourism in the national interest by developing partnerships, as well as creating a sustainable tourism industry for present and future generations. To implement it, the Authority sets itself a wide range of specific tasks: extensive advertising activities, interaction, information and other support for travel companies working with Malta, strengthening ties with the tourist press, organizing press tours to Malta, preparing and participating in tourist exhibitions, as well as preparing thematic information materials on the Maltese destination. Thus, in early 2003, the Malta Tourism Authority issued two Russian-language brochures about Malta for both travel agencies and their clients.
The peculiarity of Malta lies in the individuality of recreation. Here everyone will find something to their liking. If you are tired of winter, rains and cloudy skies, Malta will greet you with bright sunshine and fresh sea wind; thanks to its geographical position, there is practically no bad weather here.
If you prefer movement, risk and a host of thrills, then sailing trips, spinning fishing, and surfing are at your service. In addition, Malta is among the most environmentally friendly resorts in the world. Diving enthusiasts from all over the world come here to enjoy the wonderful underwater world. And recently, an ice arena opened in Malta - this is one of the components of a global entertainment project built not far from St. Julian's, in the town of St. George's Bay. So now such sports as hockey and figure skating are not exotic for Malta.
Do you want to return home stronger, prettier and younger? At your service are specialized beauty centers that work wonders in the field of general body strengthening and rejuvenation with the help of hardware cosmetology and thalassotherapy.
If you are a connoisseur of beauty and the romance of medieval chivalry gives you no rest, then the Maltese archipelago is what you were looking for. The spirit of romanticism is in the air everywhere. Moreover, several millennia ago an unknown civilization existed on this site, leaving to its descendants mysterious temples and sanctuaries that are almost a thousand years older than the Egyptian pyramids, and all of them are open to visitors. Well-organized excursions to the cities of Malta will help you enrich your knowledge in the field of history and world culture.
There are more than 32 language schools for learning English in Malta. Teaching English here is a matter of honor, since it is the second official language of Malta. The schools offer programs for different age groups, varying intensity, levels of training, duration, specialization and targeted focus.

Nowadays Malta has established itself perfectly as a venue for various congresses, seminars and symposiums. Over the past five years, the number of visitors to Malta for this purpose has almost doubled. Soon a new conference and exhibition center, Portomaso Conference & Exhibition Centre, will appear in Malta, and in early 2003 a new 5-star hotel, Inter-Continental Malta, opened in St. Julian's, also superbly equipped for business meetings and conferences.
When they talk about people who know how to turn their life into a celebration, they probably mean the Maltese. Not a single month of the year passes here without bright and spectacular events. And from May to September, folk festivals and carnivals are organized almost continuously. A special place among Maltese holidays is occupied by festas - celebrations of patron saints, of which there are a great many in Malta. The traditional September boat regatta, held annually on the feast of Our Lady of Victory, also amazes the imagination.
As you can see, the range of holiday options in Malta is quite wide, so - welcome!
