Blue elements were often present in the interior – the color of the Nile River, which was a source of water for the inhabitants of Egypt and nourished the soil on which they engaged in agriculture.
Of course, the modern Egyptian style differs significantly from the interiors of Ancient Egypt, however, the general idea is preserved. The following features of the Egyptian style have survived to this day:
• Simple geometric shapes.
• The desire to show wealth and luxury.
• Large room sizes.
• Stone as the main material.
• Use of geometric ornaments.
• Light sand colors.
There are such differences as the use of writing and images of gods to decorate the interior in Ancient Egypt and the use of modern materials and new technologies in the current Egyptian style.
Walls
Walls are usually finished with paint or plaster, but tiles and stone are also used. An excellent way to decorate a wall is with frescoes close to the culture of Ancient Egypt in theme. Half-columns protruding from the wall will add luxury to the room. The entrance to the room can be either a door (with double doors looking best) or an arch. Sliding doors will also fit perfectly into the interior.
Ceiling
The ceiling is often painted the same color as the walls or a lighter shade, but it can also be decorated unusually. For example, painted bright blue or decorated with mosaic. Currently, decorating the ceiling as a night sky is very popular: gold stars on a deep blue background. The transition from walls to ceiling is decorated with plain borders.
Floor
For an Egyptian-style interior, a floor made of ceramic or stone tiles is suitable. The tiles can have a pattern or be laid to form a design. A mat or animal skins can be used as a carpet.
Furniture
Wooden furniture with a glossy surface will fit into an Egyptian interior. The color of the furniture is dark: black, brown, burgundy, chocolate. The presence of gold elements in the furniture will emphasize the richness of the room. Upholstered furniture is covered with leather, not fabric.
Decorative Design
The best decoration for an Egyptian-style room is figurines and sculptures. Vases with Egyptian-themed patterns, paintings, curtains of strict geometric shape, mirrors, tall tropical plants will fit perfectly into the interior.
