Each year, brewers create unique beer varieties specifically for Oktoberfest, which can only be tasted at the festival. According to ITAR-TASS, the price of beer at the festival increased by 50 cents this year, reaching €8.3 per liter mug.
The Oktoberfest beer festival has been held in Munich since the mid-19th century. The main events take place on Theresienwiese (Teresa's Meadow), where on October 12, 1810, Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Theresa of Saxony celebrated their wedding. Legend has it that people enjoyed the celebration so much that they decided to commemorate the anniversary of this wedding every autumn.
