Since June 28, 2000, a visa regime for entry into the Czech Republic has been introduced for citizens of Ukraine. Those wishing to travel to the Czech Republic need one of three types of visas:
1. Visa for short-term stay up to 90 days.
2. Transit visa, single or double entry, for the purpose of transit through the territory of the Czech Republic.
3. Long-term visa for a period exceeding 90 days.
A foreign passport or other document must be valid for another 3 months after the expiration of the issued visa. Given the 6-month validity of the visa, the foreign passport must be valid for another
9 months from the date of visa issuance. The passport must have a free page for the visa. If travel documents do not meet the specified requirements, the visa application will not be accepted.
Individual applicants for visas for short-term stay up to 90 days and long-term stay exceeding 90 days
A person wishing to submit an application for a Czech visa receives a queue number indicating the date of submission of documents for obtaining the visa. Queue numbers are issued daily from 10:00 to
11:00 and from 15:00 to 16:00 at the consular department. To obtain a number, you must submit a neatly completed visa application form together with a photograph and the applicant's foreign and domestic passports. The queue number with a date guarantees that the person will be served on the specified day.
On the day specified on the queue number, the applicant must appear at the consular department and, in the general queue, submit at window No. 3 an application for a Czech visa and the necessary documents: a neatly completed and signed application form with an attached photograph (3.5x4.5 cm). The applicant may also present an invitation from the Czech Republic certified by the police for foreigners (this document provides
certain advantages when traveling to the Czech Republic). After accepting the application, the officer issues a confirmation (receipt) with the date of acceptance, the application queue number, the embassy stamp, and the officer's signature; the date for obtaining the visa can be arranged with the officer.
Window No. 1 accepts applications and documents for visas exceeding 90 days for the purpose of employment, entrepreneurship, or family reunification. After accepting the application, the officer will issue a confirmation with the date of acceptance, the application queue number, the embassy stamp, and the officer's signature.
The standard processing time for a visa is 10 working days. After this period, the applicant must appear at the consular department and, after payment at window
No. 6, receive a foreign passport with a visa and travel instructions.
Please note: the applicant must, at the request of the officer, provide explanations regarding the data specified in the application. Lack of familiarity with the data may result in the application being rejected;
in the case of acceptance of a visa application without submission of other documents, at the border the foreigner must, at the request of the control authorities, submit other necessary documents.
Applications for visas for official purposes (for private entrepreneurs, state enterprises, institutions, and other organizations)
Visa applications are submitted at window No. 2 in the general queue without pre-booked queue numbers with dates. To submit an application, you must provide: a letter from the Ukrainian organization requesting acceptance of documents for processing visas for company employees and indicating the purpose of the trip to the Czech Republic, signed by the director of the organization and with an official seal;
a list of employees (indicating surname, first name, date of birth, position) with the signature of the director and the seal of the Ukrainian organization;
a letter from the Czech partner organization confirming the purpose of the trip to the Czech Republic.
After that, a confirmation is issued with the date of acceptance of the application, queue numbers and surnames, and the date of visa issuance. The standard processing time for a visa is 10 working days unless an exact time has been agreed with the officer. On the established day, after payment at window No. 6, passports with visas must be obtained.
Trips to the Czech Republic through tourist agencies
A tourist company that processes visa applications for tourists must undergo a registration system.
Visa applications are submitted by tourist companies registered at the Consular Department. Applications from tourist companies are accepted at window No. 2 based on a prior telephone agreement with the officer on the day and time of acceptance of applications. The application must be accompanied by the following documents: a letter from the Ukrainian tourist company requesting acceptance of documents for processing visas for trip participants, indicating the group number, number of persons, travel route and places of stay, names and addresses of hotels, departure date from Kyiv or other cities of Ukraine, as well as the mode of transport. The letter must have the signature of the director of the tourist company and an official seal;
a list of trip participants (surname, first name, date of birth) with the signature of the director and the seal of the Ukrainian organization;
a copy of the service order and a letter from the Czech partner organization confirming the provision of services in the Czech Republic;
a copy of the receipt for payment of the trip cost by each participant;
neatly completed and signed visa application forms with an attached photograph (3.5x4.5 cm).

On the established day, after payment at window No. 6, passports with visas must be obtained.
We draw the attention of individual tourists, organizations, firms and travel agencies to possible problems with foreign passports. A foreign passport or child travel document must be valid for another 3 months after the expiration of the issued visa (the visa validity period is 180 days). Given the 6-month validity of the visa, the foreign passport must be valid for another 9 months from the date of visa issuance. The passport must have a free page for visa issuance. If the travel documents do not meet the specified requirements, the visa application will not be accepted.
