AeroSvit opens Kyiv – Naples route
Ukraine's largest passenger airline, AeroSvit, will launch an international Kyiv – Naples – Kyiv route on April 9. The flight will operate four times a week: on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
According to the airline's press service, the route will be served by a Boeing-737 aircraft. Until the end of April, the airline has introduced a promotional fare for round-trip flights – $369 excluding airport charges and taxes.
The Naples route will become the 56th international air route of the Ukrainian airline, and Italy will be the 28th country with which AeroSvit will operate air service.
In addition to developing direct service to Naples, AeroSvit expects to attract transit passengers to its new route, particularly from Russia to Italy, and from Italy to the Far East, South and Southeast Asia. To this end, the airline has coordinated flights to Naples with its services to/from Moscow, Beijing, Delhi, and Bangkok.
SWISS introduces online passenger check-in at some airports
Swiss airline SWISS has introduced online check-in for flights. Passengers departing from certain airports can now print their boarding pass on their computer.
Upon arrival at the airport, they can proceed directly to the boarding gate, bypassing the check-in queue. Passengers wishing to check in baggage can do so at a dedicated counter.
The service is available at airports in Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Birmingham, Budapest, Warsaw, Vienna, Lisbon, Madrid, Milan, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Stockholm, and Montreal. //Travel.ru
Most offenders on Asian air routes
The number of offenses among Aeroflot passengers in the first three months of 2006 totaled 54 incidents: 30 of them on board aircraft, 24 during pre-flight services. The number of 'unruly' passengers on board decreased by 14%, while the number of incidents during pre-flight services increased by a third. 93% of the hooligans were punished.
Half of all offenders on board were handed over to local law enforcement upon arrival, and 43% were denied return transportation on Aeroflot flights. 23 offenders were denied air transportation before takeoff.
The largest number of problem passengers (63%) is on long-haul routes, namely to Southeast Asian countries (Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Delhi), according to the airline's press release. //Travel.ru
