The country of tulips even depicted a symbolic image of these flowers on the new logo
The authorities also presented a new logo for the state. The old one featured a tulip and the inscription 'Holland'. The new logo shows the letters N and L, which form a symbolic image of tulips.
'We are modernizing our approach. We want to position the country as open, innovative and inclusive,' said the Netherlands Tourist Board. The rebranding cost 200,000 euros.
New logo of the Netherlands
It is worth noting that the name 'Holland' became attached to the Netherlands due to the names of the two historically most developed provinces of the country – North and South Holland. In general, the correct usage for the country was the name 'Netherlands', which consists of 12 provinces, as well as several islands in the Caribbean.
