A Few Steps on the Path to Oxford

Oxford is one of the oldest universities in Great Britain.

First of all, it should be noted that 11 years of domestic school is not enough for admission to Oxford, because in England education lasts one year longer. Therefore, this year can be obtained at home, studying at any university, after having completed school with the International Baccalaureate program. Another option is to study this year at an English university with a Foundation program (this is something like our preparatory courses). By the way, the latter option will be more economical.

Also, when applying, it is necessary to obtain a document that emphasizes the ability to use English correctly.

The entire path to Oxford can be divided into several stages: submitting an application, interview, receiving the results of an academic offer, and obtaining a student visa.

The last point requires particularly careful preparation: a student visa to Great Britain is issued upon an official request from an educational organization and proof of financial support. In most cases, it is impossible to do without qualified assistance from specialists when preparing documents for a visa. The application must be submitted via the internet – for this, you need to register on a special website. In the application, you need to provide personal data, a motivation letter, references.

After this, only a small fraction of applicants are weeded out, and all others are invited for an interview with Oxford representatives. An interview is a rare thing that is almost never found in other British universities. Keep in mind that there may be quite tricky questions, so it is better to prepare in advance.

After a successful interview, the applicant will receive a conditional offer. This means that the candidate is considered admitted to the university only after fulfilling certain conditions.

The scholarship at Oxford depends on exam results. Then follow less important parts that are final.
