Turkey: view of Istanbul
So beloved by many vacationers, Turkey's culture, which amazes with the eclectic combination of Eastern traditions of the Ottoman Empire, legendary Byzantium, and modern Europe, welcomes more and more tourists every year. Due to climatic features, the most favorable time for a vacation in Turkey is spring and autumn, since in summer the temperature can reach 40-50 degrees. And to give yourself a continuation of summer in autumn or show off a golden tan not from a solarium – that is very, very tempting.
Tours with accommodation and meals at the hotel without an excursion program, at first glance, seem more attractive in price. However, it is naive to think that a vacation consists of complete idleness. You can get unforgettable impressions only by going on excursions and getting to know this country better, which was so ambiguously portrayed in his works by Orhan Pamuk.
You can start exploring the sights right away in Istanbul. Don't be afraid of this big and noisy city. Here you can see the legendary Hagia Sophia of Constantinople (Ayasofya) and the most beautiful Blue Mosque. Especially since they are located practically next to each other.
"Cotton Castle" – this is how the name of the area Pamukkale is translated from Turkish. Famous for its thermal springs on the mountainside, Pamukkale has been a resort since ancient times. But it is worth visiting not only for health reasons but also to admire the wonderful natural pools with limestone walls. Imagine white, cotton-like ledges over which water flows – a truly unique sight.
No less unique natural attractions are the cave cities and valleys of Cappadocia. For an additional fee, you can stay overnight in a grotto carved into the rock. True, equipped with water and electricity. Under the influence of natural forces, the remains of an ancient volcanic eruption have taken on bizarre shapes resembling strange figures. And thanks to the relative softness of the stone, ancient Christians created underground temples and secret shelters in them.
Near Izmir are the ruins of ancient Ephesus. The size of the more or less preserved square is impressive. You will see the Temple of Artemis, the Library of Celsus, take a walk along ancient streets. And moreover – in Ephesus there is the House of the Virgin Mary, where, according to legend, the Mother of God lived.
And, finally, don't forget to get acquainted with the main attraction of Turkey – national cuisine. Spicy aromas and oriental sweets will not leave even the most demanding gourmet indifferent.
