According to Deutsche Welle, a total of 7,224 respondents from ten EU member states were surveyed. Of these, 16% named Germany as the country where people drive best. In second place was "right-hand drive" Great Britain (9%), and third was Switzerland (6%).
Other results of the survey are also interesting: about three-quarters of respondents feel confident on the roads in their own countries. In Germany, this figure is 82%. At the same time, a quarter of the 800 German respondents believe that two years ago the traffic situation in Germany was safer than it is now. The company that conducted the survey explains this negative trend by the fact that traffic has become much denser over the last two years.
The most serious risk factor on European roads, according to the Aha survey, was failure to keep a safe distance. This is followed by driving without a seatbelt and the habit of chatting on a mobile phone while holding it in hand.
When asked what most influences driving style, 61% of respondents said it was awareness of risk factors. But fuel prices were not far behind—this factor is considered primarily by 59% of European drivers. And for Germans, the cost of gasoline is number one.
• It seems that German drivers feel more free on the road thanks to the auto chemicals they use for their cars. For instance, Mobil motor oils, produced by the eponymous world-famous company, are extremely popular here. And if high-quality lubricants keep your "iron horse" in good shape, then the motorist has no reason to complain!
