As reported by Interfax, the list is topped by Australian Quantas, founded in 1922 (since 1973, the company has not recorded a single case resulting in fatalities), Finnair, established a year later, Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific (founded in 1946), and Israel's El Al (founded in 1948).
The top ten safest companies also include two so-called low-cost carriers - Irish Ryanair and German Air Berlin. Previously, writes Aero International magazine, it was believed that budget airlines could not provide the same high level of flight safety as the world's largest aviation industry giants. However, since the founding of low-cost companies, not a single fatal accident has occurred with their aircraft.
