Before buying men's watches for yourself or as a gift, it is worth deciding how and in what situation they will be worn: work, gym, banquet, or some other events. To make the selection easier, all watches can be classified into several styles.
Classic Style
This style implies the absence of unnecessary details and strictness of design. Elegance to such watches will be added by a discreet black, brown, or chrome-plated strap, which seems to continue the design of the watch itself.
The dials of classic models are usually made in the shape of a circle or oval, with rare exceptions you can see a square or rectangle. Such watches look quite presentable and are perfect for daily use.
Sport Style
The main distinguishing feature of sports models is weight and massiveness. Such constructions do not use gold parts, and given that their owners lead a very active lifestyle, they simply must have a high level of water resistance. This, naturally, affects both the volume and the weight of the product.
Be sure to pay attention to the degree of water protection for sports models. For example, in the Casio manual, water resistance is denoted as the WR coefficient and can vary over a wide range – the higher the indicator, the more water-resistant the model.
The dial of sports watches is exclusively round with large numbers and special markings, the bracelet is made of rubber, steel, or water-repellent leather. Additionally, models can be equipped with a chronograph, tachymeter, and chronometer.
Casual Models
Choosing such watches is the easiest. Their distinguishing qualities will be comfort, design versatility, and reliability. They differ from classic models by a higher degree of water protection and increased resistance to everyday damage.
Bracelets can be chosen to suit any taste – from leather to steel, as well as the shape of the dial: oval, square, 'barrel', circle, or even triangle.
