In the accepted standards of the hotel business, hotels with no more than 50 rooms – and such are the mini-hotels of St. Petersburg, Moscow and other cities – officially bear the name "small hotels". However, for their guests, the main thing is not what the establishment where they stay is called, but how comfortable their stay will be and how affordable the prices for services will be.<\/p>
Mini-hotels began to appear in our country quite recently. And not all their potential guests are aware of the undeniable advantages that this phenomenon brings. Many believe that small, usually private establishments are not able to provide service at a sufficiently high level. But those who think so are most likely referring to the standards that once prevailed in domestic departmental hotels.<\/p>
However, this opinion is completely untenable, especially with regard to modern mini-hotels. The vast majority of them offer their customers very high-quality service. And this is not surprising, because competition in this area is growing every day. So small hotels today provide quite worthy competition to "ordinary" hotels and inns.<\/p>
The reasons for opening mini-hotels can be various. Often the owners of such hotels are buyers of communal apartments – this explains the huge number of private hotels in the northern capital. Sometimes mini-hotels are opened by companies specializing in tourism: this allows them to improve the quality of service for their clients. A mini-hotel can be an excellent way to invest free funds or use available real estate.<\/p>
The legislation in the field of regulating the activities of small hotels is quite vague. Therefore, some such establishments do not even have an official hotel status, which, however, only benefits their owners, as it saves them from a number of problems with official bodies. Thus, such a business can be organized with relatively small initial investments.<\/p>
