Migration population growth in the Czech Republic exceeded natural growth by 15 times
According to data published by the office, from January to September, 43,059 people arrived in the republic from abroad, while 16,999 residents left the country. Thus, the net external migration balance was positive and amounted to 26,060 people.
The largest difference between arrivals and departures of foreigners was recorded among citizens of Ukraine (+8,900 people), Slovakia (+3,900) and Romania (+1,500).
During the specified period, 86,636 children were born. Half of them were born out of wedlock. The number of deceased residents during the specified period was 84,957 people. The average age of deceased men was 72.6 years, women – 79.7 years. Thus, natural population growth amounted to only 1,679 residents.
Czech registry offices registered 47,793 marriages from January to September. For 75% of newlyweds, the marriage was the first in their lives. The largest number of grooms were aged 29, brides – aged 27.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of divorces in the republic decreased by almost a thousand and amounted to 17,515. In 60% of cases, the divorce involved minor children. The average age of divorcing men was 45 years, women – 42 years.
