This event was dedicated to the opening in February of the first international MBA program in Ukraine by MIB and the University of New Brunswick (Canada). Interest in the briefing topic from the Internet audience was quite high. Mr. Mertens received 33 questions, to which he gave comprehensive answers. We present to you the most interesting ones.
- What is the difference between the International MBA offered by MIB and similar programs of other Ukrainian business schools?
- The International MBA program of the International Institute of Business and the University of New Brunswick is the first and only MBA program in Ukraine whose graduates receive a Master of Business Administration degree from a well-known and respected North American university. The main features of the program:
1. Adherence to North American traditions of quality in conducting MBA programs. Such programs appeared in North America, and it is there that their standards and traditions were formed. A North American MBA diploma is a mark of quality of an MBA program for employers worldwide.
2. The UNB-MIB MBA program is not just a Western MBA program; it pays significant attention to the specifics of business in our part of the world.

- How different is the program taught in Canada from the one that will be implemented in Ukraine? Will the diploma be truly «international» or merely issued by a well-known university? Can you guarantee its acceptance both here and there? - The program in Ukraine will differ slightly from the Canadian one. There are no differences in the number of courses or the volume of hours. Graduates will receive exactly the same diploma as graduates of the MBA program who studied in Canada at the University of New Brunswick. We can guarantee that these diplomas will be no different. - Tell us about the structure of the courses – required and optional, elective.
- The program consists of 20 courses (three credits each) plus a mandatory non-credit course in Organizational Communications. Of the 20 courses, 15 are required and five are electives. A list of the latter can be found on the UNB website (http://www.unb.ca).
- What criteria did the Canadian university use when choosing a partner in Ukraine?
- The University of New Brunswick is one of the oldest and most reputable Canadian universities, which values its reputation very highly. Therefore, quality issues are of fundamental importance to UNB. There are several reasons why the Canadian side trusts us to implement its program:
1. The program was prepared for quite a long time (several years). During the preparation period, UNB carefully studied MIB's programs and, in particular, the content of the Executive MBA program that we have had since 2001. On this basis, it was concluded that the content and quality of our MBA courses meet UNB's requirements.

- What documents are needed for admission?
- A completed application form; two letters of recommendation; a short essay (why you are going for an MBA program and what are your expectations from the program?); a copy of the higher education diploma; a resume (CV); four photographs. In addition, applicants take tests (mini-GMAT and English). Before the second year of study, a TOEFL result must be provided. All applicants also undergo an interview. By the way, admission to the program is already coming to an end: documents can be submitted until February 20. And the program opening is scheduled for late February – so there is little time left.
