Details of the upcoming route are currently being worked out. As noted in Lufthansa, the airline is also introducing a second daily flight on the Moscow - Munich route, which will increase the frequency of flights on the route to 14 per week.
According to the general director of Lufthansa in Ukraine, Antonio Cuoco, "the introduction of a new flight from Munich, which is Lufthansa's second hub airport, as well as convenient connection times will allow us to strengthen our airline's reputation as the leading Western carrier in the local market." At the same time, the airline noted that in connection with the opening on June 29, 2003 of a new terminal at Munich Airport, Lufthansa will operate additional flights from this city on intercontinental routes and will introduce a number of new destinations. Thus, if the government makes a positive decision, the airline will offer its passengers three weekly flights from Munich to Beijing. Three additional weekly flights are being introduced on routes to Hong Kong and Shanghai (PRC). Thus, Lufthansa will operate six weekly flights from Munich to Hong Kong and seven weekly flights to Shanghai. At the same time, daily flights on the Munich - Los Angeles route, temporarily suspended in the fall of 2001, will be resumed at the end of March, the airline reported.
