Croatian beaches attract holidaymakers from many countries around the world
There are no private beaches in Croatia; they are all municipal and therefore entry is completely free. All beaches have small cafes and bars, toilets, changing cabins and showers, as well as sports grounds and children's play areas. Any beach equipment is available for rent for a separate fee.
All beaches are divided into pebble, sandy and artificial. Every holidaymaker, for whom a trip to Croatia is primarily associated with a seaside vacation, can choose a spot for sunbathing and swimming to their liking. Most small-pebble beaches are located in Southern and Central Dalmatia in the towns of Brela, Tučepi, Baška Voda, as well as on the island of Brač. They are all surrounded by pine parks, which create amazing coolness and shade.
The largest pebble beach in Croatia is called "Golden Horn", which has characteristic bends of the coastline in the shape of a horn. This beach is a real landmark of the country, and many tourists dream of visiting it.
There are very few sandy beaches in Croatia, but true connoisseurs of beach holidays try to get to them. The best ones are located in the city of Dubrovnik and on the islands of Krk, Lopud, Hvar, Korčula and Mljet.
Artificial beaches are concrete platforms on the seashore and are usually located at hotels where tourists staying in Croatia live. Several such concrete platforms can be found on the Istrian peninsula.
In addition to the aforementioned beaches, Croatia has a significant number of nude and wild beaches. From all over the world, fans of sunbathing in the buff gather here. Entrance to such beaches is paid, but they are located in crowded places and are open for visits. On many regular beaches in Croatia, there are specially designated areas for nudists. There are quite a few special nudist campsites in the country. The most famous nudist areas are considered to be the beaches of the Valalta resort and the islands of Koversada, Cres and Hvar, Lokrum.
