Who Will Remain on Earth

UN experts have calculated who will die out first

As reported by Itogi, to compile their apocalyptic scenario, the experts used the so-called reproduction rate. That is, they take into account the average number of girls born over the lifetime of an average woman in a given country who survive to the end of reproductive age. Fertility and mortality rates are also considered.

If the resulting value is greater than one, the number of girls increases year by year, and the country is not threatened with extinction. About 120 such examples were counted. Among them are Ireland, Israel, New Zealand. The countries of Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Transcaucasus will also not disappear. But America will die out by the hundred-thousandth year.

In total, about 70 countries that will eventually die out were counted. As for Russia, it was established that the last girl will be born on its territory in 30 generations. The average childbearing age in our country is 26.81 years, meaning this will happen in 804 years. And, considering the average life expectancy of Russian women – 74.03 years – the last of them, along with hopes of procreation, will die in 2888. Ukraine will die out 400 years after Russia – in 3288.

Of course, all this will happen if people continue to live as before: reproducing naturally, without resorting to biotechnologies, and living short lives, ignoring scientific achievements. That is unlikely: scientists claim that soon we will be able to live 120-130 years. To store eggs in freezers and produce children from test tubes, planning their gender. And this means that the reproductive age will become unlimited, children can be had up to 90 years old – to have time to raise them by 130. We will clearly last more than 800 years...
