Visitors to Buckingham Palace will be able to see the lavishly furnished rooms and admire treasures from the royal collection, including paintings by Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Poussin and Canaletto, sculptures by Canova and Chartrey, many pieces of Sèvres porcelain and the most elegant furniture in the world.
According to Vesti.ru, during the 'open days' an exhibition dedicated to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953 will be held in the ballroom of the palace. The exhibition is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty's reign.
Among the exhibits are the queen's white satin dress, created by Norman Hartnell, a royal mantle 6.5 m long made of English purple silk, and a diamond tiara – one of the queen's most recognizable jewels, in which she is depicted on postage stamps and some banknotes.
Also, there are many things in the palace that remind of those events. For example, in the dining room where the banquet was held to celebrate the queen's accession to the throne, you can see magnificent porcelain and tableware made of gold and silver.
