Kazakhstan Improves Tourist Service

Currently, according to the Ministry of Tourism, there are about 926 hotels, inns and guest houses in the country. In the near future, an updated database of all accommodation facilities in Kazakhstan will be created and their classification will be carried out.

As reported by Kazakh news, this year, due to the global financial crisis, the republic does not expect an increase in tourist flow, but is confident that it will be able to maintain the indicators of 2007, when Kazakhstan was visited by 5 million people. The country is placing a special bet on ecotourism, which, according to representatives of the ministry, will always be able to attract both foreign guests and citizens of Kazakhstan who choose the magnificent nature for weekend recreation or during vacation.

The nature of Kazakhstan is unique. Over the 1,800 kilometers that separate the southern border of the country from the northern one, several landscape zones change here: forest-steppe, steppe, semi-desert and desert. Over six thousand species of plants grow in Kazakhstan, and hundreds of species of birds and animals can be found in its expanses. Rare flora and fauna are protected in the Almaty, Aksu-Dzhabagly, Barsakelmes nature reserves and many others.
