When choosing a plot for your real estate in Germany you must first decide where you will build: in the city, in a quiet village, in the mountains, in nature, or near the city, in the suburbs. The price of land in Germany largely depends on the location. In the city there are also many options: from the noisy center to a quiet, almost rural outskirts. In the center - crowds of tourists, many cars, crazy land prices, since there are practically no free plots. As an option, it is possible to purchase land with an old building on it, demolish it and build a new house. However, you need to understand that this idea is not cheap.
"If your plot is cheap but located near a roadway, it is not the best choice," says architect and writer Thomas Drexel from the German city of Augsburg. So the environment near your house must also match, that is, how many cars pass by, what houses are nearby. A plot can also be inexpensive if there are high-rise buildings next to it, especially panel buildings. They are mainly inhabited by social welfare recipients and immigrants from third countries.
Also, an inexpensive and large plot can be found in a small village. On the one hand, it is quiet, clean air, but you need to understand that you will have to travel far to work, kindergarten, school, and shops. And the cost of gasoline or diesel in Germany can amount to a considerable sum, since energy sources are very expensive. A small village may not have gas, so it is difficult to rely on gas heating. But there is also an excellent solution: install a liquefied gas tank on the plot and refill it as needed.
