A well-written resume increases the chance to interest a potential employer in your candidacy
A resume as such does not give anyone a guarantee of employment in Moscow, assistance in finding a job, even if it is properly written. But a resume can give a chance to stand out in the large flow of information that reaches a recruitment agency or company.
A well-written resume increases the chance to interest a potential employer in your candidacy, and also to receive an offer for a personal interview.
What is a resume?
Resume (from French resume, resumer – to summarize) is a result, a brief conclusion, a short summary. It is a document that will present you in the best light and help you get an invitation for an interview. A resume is a description of your achievements and skills in the context of all your previous jobs. Particularly achievements and skills that are relevant to the job you are applying for. After reading a resume, it is quite possible to predict whether you can handle the job or not.
Rules for writing a resume
- In a resume, you should only include brief but fairly complete and truthful information about education, work experience, professional skills, available references, and achievements;
- All resumes should be written for a specific job vacancy;
- The optimal size for a resume is 1-2 printed pages;
- It is best to use fonts such as Arial and Times New Roman. All important points of the resume should be highlighted with spaces and fonts to attract the reader's attention. But do not overdo it: use no more than two fonts on a resume, otherwise it will be hard to read;
- You should check the resume for literacy. A resume may be well and competently written, but the presence of syntactic or grammatical errors will cause distrust of the data written in its text. It is worth rereading the resume several times. It would not be superfluous to ask your friends or relatives to read the resume. Personnel search in Moscow takes a lot of time, so do not expect to find a new job within a week.
- The data contained in the resume must be reliable. Distortion of the presented information can cost you the job. You should present your qualifications in the most favorable light and not use false data.
